PLACED ON PURPOSE

As we look ahead to Sunday, we’re getting ready to explore a powerful truth:

We’ll be reading from 2 Samuel 6:12-22, where David brings the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem, not just any leader, but as one placed by God to lead with purpose and joy.

BIG PICTURE

Every great coach knows that a solid strategy is important, but it’s not just about the plan. It’s about putting the right players in the right position. And that’s what God does with us.

In this week’s story, God gave David a specific role in His game plan. And guess what? Your child has a role, too. So do you!

FOR PARENTS:

Whether your child is confident or uncertain about who they are, you get to remind them that God made them on purpose, for a purpose. This week, we will discuss that obeying God is the best way to stay “in position” for what He has called us to do.

Try asking:

  • “Where do you think God has placed you to lead or shine right now?”
  • “How can we follow Him better as a family?”

FOR VOLUNTEERS:

You’ve been placed in kids’ ministry for a reason. Just as David danced before the Lord with joy, your faith and joy can also lead kids to love following God.

On Sunday, help kids connect the dots: God placed David in a specific role, and He has placed you here on purpose, too.

WEEKEND PRAYER:

Lord, thank You for giving each of us a place in Your plan. Help us lead with joy, serve with purpose, and follow You no matter what. Show us how to help the kids in our lives do the same. Amen.

CLOSING THOUGHT:

A great coach builds a great team, and God’s plan included you. When you follow Him, we always end up right where we’re meant to be.
