This past Sunday in Sozo Kids, we taught our kids that making peace is part of God’s game plan. As a volunteer, you play a key role in helping them understand what that looks like, not just in Bible stories, but in real life.
But let’s be honest – sometimes your life isn’t peacful either.
VOLUNTEER INSIGHT:
Before you walk into a room to lead, love, or serve, you may be coming from a full week, a hard moment, or a personal storm. And yet, you still show up! That’s powerful. But here’s the reminder: God doesn’t expect you to carry His peace to others without first giving it to you.
When we serve from a place of rest in Him, it changes everything. Like Abigail in 1 Samuel 25, you have the ability to bring peace into tense situations, but only because God first brings peace to you.
"A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." - Proverbs 15:1
TRY THIS BEFORE SUNDAY:
- Take 5 minutes to be quiet with God. Ask Him to fill you with peace.
- Think about what’s been stealing your peace lately, and hand it over to Him.
- Remind yourself: “I can’t give what I don’t have. But God gives freely.”
TODAY’S PRAYER:
Lord, I need Your peace, not just for the kids I serve, but for my own life. Calm the chaos in my heart. Remind me that I’m not leading alone. Let your peace flow through me this week. Amen.
CLOSING THOUGHT:
Peace isn’t just something you carry into a classroom; it’s something God wants to plant deep in your own heart. Let Him meet you first.
